Invoices and receipts for Marker for Creators
Where your invoice comes from depends on one thing: where you bought Marker Pro. There are two possibilities, and each one has its own billing partner and its own documents. That also decides what the invoice can show, for example whether it carries a company name and a VAT ID.
If you bought Marker Pro in the App Store
Purchases made in the app are processed by Apple. Apple charges your Apple Account, handles taxes for your country and issues the invoice. Marker never sees your payment details and cannot issue or change these documents.
Where to find your Apple invoices:
- Apple sends an email titled "Your invoice from Apple" after every purchase and renewal.
- On your iPhone: Settings, tap your name, then Media & Purchases, View Account, Purchase History.
- In any browser: reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account and open the purchase to view the full invoice including tax.
What is on an Apple invoice: the name and billing address of the Apple Account holder, the product, the amount and the tax. If your accountant needs more than that, Apple Support is the right contact, since Apple is the seller.
Managing an App Store subscription (renewal, cancellation) also happens through Apple: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, or the Manage Subscription button inside Marker.
If you bought Marker Pro on markerforcreators.com
Purchases made on our website are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle is the seller on these transactions, so Paddle appears on your card statement and issues the invoice.
Where to find these invoices:
- In the Marker app: Settings, your account, Invoices. Every invoice can be shared as a PDF, for example to your Mac via AirDrop or straight into your accounting software.
- On the web: log in to your Marker account and open Billing.
What is on a website invoice: the billing details you entered at checkout. If you checked "Business" and added your company name, address and tax or VAT ID, they appear on the invoice. For business customers in the EU with a valid VAT ID, Paddle applies the reverse charge mechanism where it is legally required. Forgot something at checkout? You can update your billing details in your Marker account under Billing, and the invoice is regenerated with the new details.
Why are the two documents different?
Whoever processes the payment is responsible for the paperwork. For App Store purchases that is Apple, for website purchases that is Paddle on behalf of Marker. That is also why one purchase never has two invoices, and why you cannot get an Apple invoice for a website purchase or the other way round.
Not sure where you bought Marker Pro? Open the Invoices screen in the Marker app. It tells you which of the two applies to your account.
